Permissible Operating Pressure
Projected Service Life

The following table provides more detailed information with regards to the permissible pressure of various temperatures. These values are derived from the hoop stress chart and formula. Under normal working pressures and conditions, the average service life of Vesbo PE-X pipes is projected to be 50 years or more. A PN 20 hot water pipe, transporting water at a temperature of 95oC can last for more than 50 years under normal conditions with an operating pressure of 8.2 Bars.

Linear Expansion

For transportation of hot water, like all metal or plastic pipes, we have to deal with its linear expansion.

The coefficient of linear expansion for Vesbo PE-X pipes is 2.10-4(K-1)

Example

Pipe has a length of 1.5 m normal cold water temperature is 25oC and hot water from water heater is set at 60oC.

Application Areas

1.Sanitary Applications

a.Installation by using collectors: This method of installation allows the plumbers to lay the pipes from the collector directly to the consumption points. The number of fittings used is minimized, as a result the installation time is shorter and the fittings cost is lowered.



b.Installation without using collectors: This method is preferred to save space from the collector point. T parts are used to branch off. The length of pipes is used in system is minimized through this type of installation.
